Thermoformed shower tray
A new generation of shower trays
Emilgroup has designed a collection of innovative porcelain stoneware shower trays produced using the thermoforming technique. The thermoformed shower tray combines minimalist aesthetics, functionality and practicality, offering quick installation, technical reliability and perfect visual continuity between the floor and wall coverings in the bathroom, creating a harmonious and uniform space.
Thermoforming
Through the thermoforming process, the ceramic slabs are shaped – without the need for any cutting – to ensure the correct slope (2-2,5%), as the curvature of the surface facilitates the central flow of water towards the drain.
This technique, which can be applied to 6.5 mm thick slabs with a non-glossy finish, does not alter the surfaces’ strength characteristics, thus ensuring their high anti-slip properties. Thermoformed material may exhibit some shade variation, so this option must be carefully assessed, bearing in mind the selected product and type of installation.
Technical reliability and fast installation
The structure of the thermoformed shower tray is made from a compound of expanded clay aggregate (LECA) and resin to ensure compactness and strength in a single solid block. Fitted with a central circular drain and a drain cover that matches the porcelain stoneware covering, it can be installed in three different ways.
Installation methods
Surface-mounted installation
The shower tray is installed above floor level, resulting in a slightly raised surface. This practical and versatile solution is ideal for quick refurbishments and projects requiring minimal alterations to the plumbing..
Semi-recessed installation
The shower tray is partially recessed into the floor, leaving only a slight protrusion visible and providing the right balance between modern aesthetics and ease of installation.
Flush-to-floor installation
The shower tray is fully integrated into the floor, creating a continuous, minimalist surface. This solution creates an elegant and contemporary look, making it easier to access and clean the shower area.
Sizes and customizations
The thermoformed shower tray is available in standard sizes of 80x100, 80x120, 100x120, 100x150 cm, equipped with only a circular porcelain stoneware drain complete with all plumbing fittings. Other sizes, also with a central drain, can be made to order.
The thermoformed shower tray, whether installed in a recess or against a wall, can be cut to size to fit any space perfectly. Trimming can be carried out directly on site, using the same tools as those used for cutting tiles.
